Never wonder who stole your pen again! This one-of-a-kind pen is a great way to add a little color and style to your everyday life. All pens are created with a polymer clay millefiori design that is handcrafted and completely unique and exclusive to Star Gazer Clay Arts. Pens come with the option of blue or black replaceable ink cartridges, when the ink finally runs out just swap it out with a new BIC ROUND STIC ink cartridge (instructions for ink replacement will be included with purchase).

*** The pen pictured above is a stock photo. Due to the creation process, even though the same millefiori pattern is used, the base pattern is uniquely applied to each piece individually and there are small variations to each finished piece that make it similar to others with the same design, but completely unique, at the same time. Please keep in mind there are slight pattern differences when choosing your millefiori-themed items and it will be strongly similar but not identical to the picture shown above. ***

  • A Little Bit About Millefiori

All polymer clay pens, perfume pens, and compartment key chains are created using blanks an altered glass blowing technique called millefiori. This technique has been around for millennia, but it hasn’t been until recently that the technique has been modified to be used with polymer clay. The millefiori patterns Star Gazer uses are created in-house and crafted by hand. Once the design is complete it is slivered and applied to pen cases by hand, this ensures that, even if the same millefiori design is used on multiple items, the finished design will never be completely identical. Each piece is one of a kind.

  • Refilling Your Polymer Clay Pen

To refill your pen, take a pair of pliers and, very gently, grasp the pen head and gently wiggle the pen head left to right until it comes free. Carefully slide it out of the pen casing and repeat pen head removal process with any Bic Roundstic brand pen before taking the unused ink stick and inserting it in your polymer clay pen. Ensure it has been fully secured into position before continuing to use your polymer clay pen.

  • General Care & Maintenance of Polymer Clay

Polymer clay is a very versatile material and can essentially last for years, if not decades, if the proper care is taken. To maximize the lifespan of your polymer clay product please read the following:

    1. Polymer clay is water resistant. Temporary exposure to water will not damage polymer clay or affect the quality of any patterns or designs within the clay itself (i.e. millefiori). If your product falls in water or becomes wet/moist take a dry paper towel and very gently pat the piece until it is dry before storing it.

    2. Polymer clay is heat resistant up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. It is not flame resistant. Direct flame will blacken the clay and/or create bubbles, so avoid letting polymer clay come into direct contact with open flames or heated elements (i.e. stove, oven, BBQ elements, etc.)

    3. If possible, avoid prolonged exposure to freezing temperatures. If you have purchased a piece that you wish to keep outside please make sure to bring it inside before first frost and store it somewhere safe until outdoor temperatures return to steadily above freezing. Polymer clay becomes very brittle and can crack and break easily when exposed to freezing temperatures.

    4. Polymer clay can be quite rigid depending on the thickness of the clay surface. For surfaces that are less than 1/4" in thickness take care to avoid situations that might force the clay to bend as there is a good possibility that the pressure could cause the cured clay to break/snap. If this occurs and you wish to repair the piece both superglue and epoxy are safe to use, though make sure to follow product guidelines to ensure you handle the glues safely.
